Welcome to Mystic River Rabbitry. Owned and operated by Amy and David Marschang.

Our interest in showing rabbits is very recent.  David started attending rabbit shows in July/ August of 2010 and fell in love with the Dutch.   We soon had four Jr Black Dutch and a pair of Mini Lops (he thought he could score brownie points with cute bunnies).  Once I finally had a few weekends off and was able to go along, it didn't take me long to fall in love with the Mini Rex.  So, next thing we knew we had three breeds of rabbits and at the time we knew almost nothing.  We started doing a lot of research online and continued to go to as many shows as possible.  At some point, I really don't remember when or why, we decided we didn't want to concentrate on Mini Lops but on a number of Mini Rex varieties, and Blue and Black Dutch.

The first show we actually entered was the IRBA State Convention in Bloominton, IL.  It was a full weekend of furry fun!  We entered our Dutch and Mini Rex, made a few contacts, learned a bit more about our chosen breeds, and just had a great time.   Since then we have entered only a couple  other shows in our area, but are looking forward to many, many more!!

Somewhere along our very short path we decided to work with three seperate breeds.  After some serious soul searching, David finally agreed to the adorable Netherland Dwarves.

Dave worked with the dutch for awhile but soon got tired of never having rabbits to put on the show table. So he decided to get out of Dutch and add three more colors to our Mini-Rex program. We later decided to get out of netherlands and just focus on  Mini Rex. Then it didn't take us long to realize that we really loved the tort's, himi's and sable point's and the other colors were just taking up valuable cage space.

We have finally settled on  Mini Rex in Tort, Himi, Sable Point, and a few blacks. We have circled at least one show a month on our calendar and are barely able to contain our excitement as we wait for the next show.

Feel free to check out our site but, don't put too much stock in our photo's we have alot to learn about posing the bunnie's.
